Ecolabel certificate
We are proud holders of the “EU ECOLABEL” environmental label, which is the leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operations and signifies the commitment of providers to respect the STRICT CRITERIA set by the EU. By obtaining the label, we have been recognized for EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY and SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS.
We declare that:
- we act in an environmentally friendly manner in all areas of our business,
- We raise awareness among our visitors, guests, friends and relatives about the importance of a sustainable approach, and
- We are constantly looking for new solutions for responsible management of natural resources and for the efficient use of electrical and thermal energy.
Such behavior is first and foremost beneficial for the natural environment. In most cases, this kind of environmental care involves small measures that do not require any great effort or sacrifice of comfort for any of us. All that is needed are simple and barely noticeable actions. But if we all do them together, we can change the world for the better and leave it to our descendants as we received it from our ancestors.
For this reason, the management and employees – by following the guidelines written on the “environmental sparks”, are committed to responsible behavior towards the environment, which we also encourage you – our valued guests. An important condition for obtaining the environmental label is awareness. We will be grateful if you follow the advice and thus contribute to preserving the environment together with us.
Our environmental sparks:
To maintain a satisfactory quality of life, a person uses an average of 80 liters of drinking water per day. In Slovenia, we use 130 to 200 liters of drinking water per household member per day. For just one toilet flush, we use 2 to 8 liters of clean drinking water, and for cooking, the average Slovenian household uses 6 liters of drinking water per day.
-
We drink tap water.
Slovenia is one of the few countries that can boast of natural drinking water without prior treatment. Tap water is free and free of packaging waste.
-
We conscientiously separate waste
We separate waste according to instructions. We always dispose of waste in appropriate containers and never in nature or in drains. There are separate waste bins in all corridors, marked for separate waste collection.
-
We reduce the use of plastic and paper
In Slovenia, we produced an average of 489 kg of municipal waste per capita in 2020. Each year, an individual in Slovenia uses between 100 and 300 plastic bags, which are only used for a few minutes to an hour. We are producing more and more plastic in the world, of which 6.4 million tons end up in the environment. Plastic particles, however, enter our bodies and those of animals, negatively affecting the quality of our health. WE AVOID THE USE OF SINGLE-USE PLASTIC PRODUCTS. WE REDUCE PAPER CONSUMPTION IN OFFICES, ROOMS, APARTMENTS.
-
We carefully turn off the lights, reducing our carbon footprint
Our facility has high-quality insulation and energy-saving windows. WE CLOSED DOORS AND WINDOWS. This prevents the rooms from heating up. We ventilate the rooms for a short time in the morning and evening. This effectively reduces our carbon footprint.
-
We enjoy the local wealth of nature and cultural heritage
The natural and cultural heritage in our environment is exceptional – we inform guests about the surrounding natural attractions and cultural events! GUESTS CAN OBTAIN INFORMATION ABOUT ATTRACTIONS, EXPERIENCES, GASTRONOMY AND CUSTOMS FROM OUR EMPLOYEES.
-
We explore the surroundings with environmentally friendly types of mobility
Slovenia is ideal for cycling, e-scooters and public transport. EVERY TRIP/SIGHTSEEING A GUEST DOES BY BIKE, E-SCOOTER, PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR ON FOOT, INSTEAD OF A CAR, IS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ACTION.
-
We ensure economical use of detergents and water when washing
Every day, factories around the world use tons of detergent and millions of liters of water to wash towels and bed linen that have been used only once. Towels are only changed at the request of the guest or if they are left on the floor. WE ARE THEREFORE CHANGED BEDLINEN AND TOWELS WITH EVERY CHANGE OF GUESTS, OR ONLY IF THEY EXPRESSLY REQUIRE IT.
